The District Education Improvement Committee is seeking a few parents and community members to serve. Monthly meetings of the DEIC are held one Wednesday from 4-5.30 PM at the District Office training center, the Professional Development Building (PDC) located next to the district office. The official purpose of the DEIC is to serve as an advisory board:
Purpose:
The Fort Sam Houston ISD DEIC works in an advisory capacity to the Superintendent in order to provide broad-based input to improve student achievement. The committee addresses issues in the areas of planning, budget, curriculum, staffing patterns, staff development, and school organization. The committee also provides assistance in developing the District Improvement Plan. In an advisory capacity, the committee has input on district-level waivers, local appraisal processes, the district calendar, and the student code of conduct. Not all topics are reflected on this planning document.
If you are a parent and/or know a community member (anyone living on post with NO children attending FSHISD) who is interested, please contact Lori Fuller, District Teaching Learning Coordinator at [email protected]
