Four teams, 15 students, from Fort Sam Houston Elementary School attended the JSTEM First Lego League Qualifier on Saturday, January 26, 2019. Each team researched a real-world problem about space travel and were challenged to develop an innovative solution for their team’s problem. They also designed, built, and programmed a robot using LEGO Mindstorm technology to compete on a table-top playing field. We are proud to announce that all the building, programming, researching, and practice paid off!

Last week, Cole photography and journalism students traveled to attend and compete at the JEA/NSPA national journalism conference in Chicago with over 6300 students from across the United States.

Junior, Raquelle Bennett competed in the Photography Portfolio division at the conference and was one of only three students in the country to receive a Superior Rating. The portfolio competition is the most difficult and competitive division, usually reserved for seniors, as students may only enter once in their high school career.

Raquelle's portfolio consisted of art-inspired portraits that were created in both her commercial photography and AP art photography classes. While judges encouraged her to remove the single life-style portrait, they were very impressed with her technical skill combined with her variety of creative approaches to all other images in the portfolio.

The Cole boys' varsity basketball team are Area Champs! They will advance to the regional qualifier game to face Marion HS. They will play on Tuesday, February 26th at 8:00 pm in Seguin Texas at Goldie Harris Gym. Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $4 for students.

The Senior Class and Project Graduation from Cole High School is honored to host the Annual Cougar's Got Talent Show and Dinner on February 23, 2019 from 5:30 - 8: 00 pm. Click the headline above for details about the show and audition dates.

The Cole Varsity Boys' Basketball Team will play Jarrell Tuesday evening at 6 pm at Lehman High School, 1700 Lehman Road, Kyle, TX 78640. Adult tickets are $5 and students are $3. Go Cougars!

Congratulations to the Girls Basketball Team for defeating Johnson City Tuesday night by a score of 56-28. The Lady Cougars advance to the second round of playoffs and will play Karnes City Thursday, February 14th at 7:30 pm at La Vernia High School, 225 Bluebonnet Drive, La Vernia, TX 78121. Go Lady Cougars!

The Varsity Girl's Basketball Team will play Johnson City in the first round of playoff action on Tuesday, February 12th at 6 pm at Lehman High School, 1700 Lehman Road, Kyle, TX 78640. Ticket prices are $4 for adults and $3 for students.
