DoDEA "Branching Out with STEM across Pre-K through 12" Grant Years 2019 - 2024
 
Goal:  Cultivate and raise interest and participation in STEM related classes.
Strategy 1 - Increase the amount and depth of the training in STEM and the use of the existing Imaginasium Pre-K through 5.
Strategy 2 - Enhance and expand STEM related after school clubs and project based learning in grades 6-8.  This will be done by offering professional development for teachers, purchasing materials, and supplies.
Strategy 3 -Create a Digital Forensics Course and an Investigating Careers Course. *Revised & Implementing in 2022.2023 school year.

Federal Grant Entitlements 2024-2025 School Year

2024-24 Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Application Planned Use of Funds

The grant overview and tentative use of funds is outlined below.  Please email the Federal Programs Department lfuller@fshisd.net  with any questions or comments regarding the use of funds for the 2024-2025 ESSA Consolidated Grant.


Title 1, Part A ($54,112)

Purpose: Improving Basic Program funds are designated to provide all children with significant opportunities to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education to close educational achievement gaps.

Tentative Plans: FSHISD’s plan includes using these funds to provide additional staff to provide intervention help in Math. 

Title II, Part A ($26,293)

Purpose: Supporting Effective Instruction funds are designated to improve the quality & effectiveness of our teaching and leadership workforce through staff development to improve the overall quality of instruction and ensure equity of educational opportunity for all students and enhance recruitment and retention of highly qualified teachers.

Tentative Plans: FSHISD’s plan includes using the majority of these funds for evidence-based professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators. 

Title III-A ($4, 092)

Purpose: English Language Acquisition, Language Enhancement, and Academic Achievement funds are designated to ensure that English learners (ELs) and immigrant students attain English proficiency and develop high levels of academic achievement in English. Title III will also assist all English learners meet the same challenging State academic standards that all children are expected to meet.

Tentative Plans: FSHISD’s funds are managed by a Shared Services Agreement (SSA) with ESC20 under  program requirements dictated by the amount of our entitlement. 

Title IV-A ($10,000)

Purpose: Student Support and Academic Enrichment funds are designated to increase the capacity to meet the following three goals:

Tentative Plans: FSHISD’s plan includes using the majority of these funds to support the expansion of our Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs (#1) and providing funds to cover the fees for Industry Based Certification exams.

  2. Improve academic outcomes by maintaining safe and healthy students 
  3. Improve the use of technology to advance student academic achievement
