"Cole's Got Talent" Talent Show February 25th!

We invite everyone to see all the wonderful talent we have in FSHISD at the "Cole's Got Talent Show and Dinner." There will be singing, dancing, guitar and piano playing, gymnastics, and more. Tickets are now on sale at the Cole High School and Middle School Main offices for $7.00 per ticket. Kids age 4 and under are free. They can also be purchased at the Elementary School. The price includes dinner and a show. So, bring out your family and friends to enjoy this wonderful event on Feb 25th. Doors will open at 5:00 pm. Remember to bring extra money for the silent auction and the bake sale. We hope to see everyone there!

Cole Artists Excel at Rodeo Art Competition

Over 400 pieces were entered in this year's Stock Show Western Art Contest and 7 of our Cole students placed in the top 50. Earning top honors were:

Grace Lester received 1st place and top 15 with her oil painting.
Aliyah Jones received 1st place and top 15 with her watercolor piece.
Makayla Cunningham received 1st place and top 25 with her Mixed media art piece.

These three students auctioned their artwork at the Briscoe Western Art museum. Entries judged as the Top 15 were sold at a live auction to the highest bidder, and the remaining Top 25 entries were sold at a silent auction to the highest bidder. Each student artist received the full amount of the proceeds in the form of a college scholarship! Way to go, art students!

Academic Decathlon Headed to State!

The academic decathlon team had a successful showing at their regional competition this weekend and will advance to state competition in El Paso on February 27th. Katherine Keenan placed 1st in math, economics and art, 2nd in music and social science, 3rd in essay and 2nd overall in the honors category.
Notable accomplishments were Akyma Bush in speech and Cole's top overall varsity, Braesha A. took Cole's top overall scholastic honor, Meagan R. in music, Gabriella S. in interview and Tristian B. in social science. Other members of the team include Jasmine G., Amanda Perez, Gabriella Saddler, Akyma Bush, and Morgan M. Sponsors are Mr. Lance Kaminsky and Mrs. Lily Reich. Way to go, AcaDec!

Robotics Team Places 3rd in Area!

Congratulations to the Cole High School Robotics Team for placing 3rd in the TCEA Area 20 Robotics Challenge! They competed on Saturday, January 14th against 12 other teams from different schools and districts. It was a tough competition and the team really worked hard. They represented our school with great attitudes, teamwork, and perseverance. The students on the team are: Matthew Craig, Daniel Gonzalez, Amya and team captain, Henry Yowell. Way to go Cougars!!
